The Taiwan Experience Education Program is a short-term scholarship program offered by the Taiwan government for international students interested in doing internships at Dong Hwa University. The program is specifically targeted towards bachelor's or master's students with backgrounds in natural and environmental science. Located at Dong Hwa University in Hualien, Taiwan, this program offers a unique opportunity for students to gain practical experience and immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture.
Promoting Carbon Neutral Agriculture and Circular Economy
Students selected for the Taiwan Experience Education Program will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities and courses designed to enhance their understanding of natural and environmental science. From field studies to laboratory work, participants will gain valuable insights and practical skills that will contribute to their academic and professional development.

Bachelor’s degree holders or students currently enrolled in a master’s program

Open to applicants from any country
❌ Not eligible: Students already in Taiwan or those who hold a Ph.D.

📘 Courses on international standards: ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-2, ISO 14067

Scholarship & Expenses
💰 TEEP Scholarship

Amount: NT$15,000/month

Duration: Up to 3 months only

Support: Provided by the Taiwan Ministry of Education

Participants must cover the following costs:

Administrative Fee: NT$800 (one-time)

Training Program Fee: NT$1,000 per 10 days

Dormitory Housing: Approx. NT$10,700 per semester

Additional Notes
• TEEP participants cannot work outside or inside campus during their stay in Taiwan
• Internships are for educational purposes only, not labor
• Maximum scholarship support: 3 months
• Participants will need to stay in lab for research work on working days throughout the scholarship duration
Our Professor

Prof. Hong Yao-Ming brings extensive experience in environmental science and carbon neutrality research. As the leader of the Carbon Neutrality Research Center, he oversees the development of carbon neutrality standards, verification processes, and carbon footprint tools that industries can use to accurately assess and manage their emissions.

Prof. Chang Ruey-Yi

Prof. Chang Ruei-Yi is a renowned microbiologist with a focus on molecular virology and sustainable waste management through microbial applications. She leads initiatives within the Center’s circular economy projects, turning organic waste, like coffee grounds, into valuable resources for agriculture.
Assoc. Prof. Chen Sheau-Hwa combines expertise in marketing management, consumer behavior, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) to advance the Center’s mission in educating and engaging the public. Her work focuses on promoting sustainable corporate practices and conducting research on the social aspects of sustainability.

Prof. Lin Kuo-Chih
Department of Biochemical and Molecular Medical Sciences, College of Science and Engineering
Prof. Lin Kuo-Chih is a leading expert in molecular plant pathology and has a deep focus on the role of microorganisms in plant health and immunity. At the Center, he contributes to the research on bio-fertilizers and carbon sequestration in soil, studying the effects of organic fertilizers on crop resilience and soil quality.
